GoClickIT and URLShot.
Choose by the workflow.
Choosing a screenshot API is about more than the image response. Check the request contract, capture options, result lifetime and how the image fits into your review workflow.
What the other product documents
Use URLShot’s own website and documentation to check its current API contract and allowances. We do not publish an unverified feature or price matrix for URLShot.
When GoClickIT may fit
GoClickIT suits an integration that also needs a browser editor, workspace storage, sharing rules and capture-level comments. API keys require a paid workspace and share its monthly render credits.
When another tool may fit better
If your priority is a dedicated image-URL service, scheduled refreshes or a different response contract, confirm those requirements with your shortlisted provider. GoClickIT supplies signed image URLs with on-demand cache refresh, but not independent scheduled refreshes or a separate free API key tier.
GoClickIT’s current scope
| Decision | Current GoClickIT behavior |
|---|---|
| Response handling | A bounded capture request returns a job ID; read status and retrieve the authenticated PNG. |
| Capture controls | Desktop/tablet/mobile/custom viewport, full page, CSS selector, offset and section-height options, using website-default appearance. |
| Media workflow | Temporary API output expires after one hour. Save a copy yourself; use the app for cloud review and sharing. |
| Migration effort | Adapt your client deliberately. This is not a drop-in compatibility claim for URLShot endpoints. |
A practical evaluation
Before changing providers, run the same representative URLs and viewport dimensions through both integrations. Include a long page, a delayed image, a page that blocks automation and a failure case. Confirm how a client timeout affects usage before adding retries.
